Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Particle Astrophysics - Phased
IceCube Next Generation Upgrade (PINGU)
The Particle Astrophysics group at the University of Alabama invites
applications for one postdoctoral research position starting in fall
2013. The group is involved in the energy scale calibration of the PINGU
project, a planned extension of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. The
successful candidate would develop and analyze simulations of new
calibration devices and of energy reconstruction methods. Applications
will be considered from Ph.D. physicists and astronomers with strong
backgrounds in particle astrophysics, particle physics, and related
fields. Experience with object-oriented software (python and C++/ROOT)
is required. The position is for two years.
