[Bfys-physics] Breathalysers for CERN cars

Dear all, following up on the mail below, Eddy and I placed two breathalysers in each CERN car, as requested by Frence law since July 2012. The main purpose of this action was to prevent that users of our cars at CERN may be fined by the French police. If for any reason you end up actually using a breathalyser, please replace it with a new one. Ciao, Antonio P.S. Dear friends, As I get frequently questions related to the whereabouts of group members, I thought it would be useful to collect this information in a non-public google calendar. The way it works is that I create a google calendar and share it with the bfys group members. Each person can then make his or her own entries in the calendar, eg. in my case: 10/9-12/9: "Marcel in Krakow". If you are willing to participate to this calendar please send me your google account such that I can edit the access rights and send you the invitation. To be clear: the calendar will NOT be publicly visible, only for group members. Currently, there is already a public "Nikhef Bfys" calendar that contains events relevant to our group. Good Morning Everyone, I am presenting my thesis tomorrow (Friday) at 3:00 PM, in H331, and it will be nice if you can attend. The talk is going to be about deriving the angular distribution of B--> K* mu mu, using quantum field theoretical methods. One of the methods is the Helicity formalism, and the other method is by using the Hamiltonian of the decay. The coefficients of the angular distribution are observables that can hint at physics beyond the Standard Model, and a method is developed in order to fit for these coefficients. After the presentation, I am planning to have drinks in my office, and you are all invited. Cheers, Isha
