Dear all,
If somebody can prepare an introduction before this week Friday 24 January
we can discuss it this Friday.
Otherwise we will arrange for a discussion on 31 January short before the
deadline of 3 February.
Please, let me know.
Best regards,
Tjeerd
Dear bfys-physics members,
please see below for the plan to upgrade stoomboot to SL6 — you are probably either
not interested (if so, apologies for the spam), or getting this now for (at t least) the 2nd time
(because if you’re interested, you’d be on the sbc-users mailing list).
If you have reasons to think that the proposal below would have an unreasonable impact
on your work, please respond ASAP, as no reply will be taken as (implied) consent to the
proposal!
Note that there already is (has been for some time already) an interactive node, stbc-isl6,
which serves as a ‘preview’ of what to expect, so you can use it to verify that your workflow
works (or can be adapted to) SL6.
Cheers,
— Gerhard

Also note : we have yet to hear from anyone who has a requirement for SL5 plus glusterFS access, nor from anyone who needs SL5 at all. Based on current input, we could upgrade the entire cluster to SL6. So if you need SL5 please read below and then answer before Friday! ]

Hi,
I uploaded a new version to the Nikhef indico page of this morning:
http://agenda.nikhef.nl/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2685
It incorporates most of the comments made this morning and the
ones that I received by email. Thanks for that. Really appreciated.
I am still fighting a bit with:
- the effective honest number to quote for the gain of the Upgrade with
respect to continuing the old way,
- I don't like slide #11 with the performance of the present VELO under
Upgrade conditions,
- I don't like the x-axes of the plots on slide #18, but there
probably isn't an alternative.
If you have suggestions/ideas/comments don't hesitate to
communicate them to me.
Have a good weekend and will see most of you on Monday,
eddy
