Hi Francesco,
According to their roadmap, the Linux support should improve "soon", especially for OpenSuSE, http://information-technology.web.cern.ch/services/fe/vidyo/developments/vid... .
This probably does not help much, but on Arch Linux I got the desktop client working quite easily by extracting the package https://vidyoportal.cern.ch/upload/VidyoDesktopInstaller-sl564-TAG_VD_2_2_1_... and running the usr/bin/VidyoDesktop script from the command line to check if anything went wrong (a few versions ago I had to install old jpeg and png libraries, but that seems not necessary any more). The least straight-forward dependency was that the pulse daemon needs to be running for VidyoDesktop to start.
Cheers, Pieter

Hi all,
I take the occasion to add that various linux distributions are officially NOT supported by the vidyo support team. For example OpenSuSE which is one of the most common (after Ubuntu). I suppose that CERN will just say: install the cern linux distribution... but this is not the kind of answer I like.
Do you know if there is any plan to make our life easier?
cheers, Francesco
