Dear all,
We have a new paper assigned to us. The lifetime of the doubly charmed and doubly charged baryon, which helps addressing some issues between us and SELEX. Any volunteer to collect comments?
Thanks
Patrick

Dear Colleagues,
A draft paper is available for your comments. Team leaders, verify the author list and check for reading obligations. The following institutes are requested to make institutional comments via the CDS link given below:
Birmingham, United Kingdom Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet Heidelberg, Germany NIKHEF VU, The Netherlands LAPP, Annecy-Le-Vieux, France UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Cincinnati, United States
Title : Measurement of the lifetime of the doubly charmed baryon $\Xi_{cc}^{++}$ Journal : PRL Contact authors : Jibo He, Yuehong Xie, Yuanning Gao, Jiesheng Yu, Daniel Vieira Reviewers : Angelo Di Canto (chair), Steve Blusk EB reviewer : Stefania Vecchi EB readers : Roland Waldi, Roberta Santacesaria Analysis note : ANA-2017-032 Deadline : 17-May-2018 e-group : lhcb-paper-2018-019-reviewers CDS link : https://cds.cern.ch/record/2316030 Authors : LHCb Twiki : https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LHCbPhysics/XiccLifetime
It is the responsibility of the contact authors to provide replies to all comments made. Subsequent modifications to the draft will be made in consultation with the reviewers and during the EB reading. Following this, there will be a final meeting of the editorial board, with contact authors and reviewers present, when final decisions will be made. As the last step, the collaboration will be given a final opportunity to comment during a 'silent approval' period.

Hi all,
I did not follow up whether anyone was willing to read this paper. Here are my comments. The deadline is Thursday.
Cheers,
Patrick
//=========================================
Dear Jibo He, Yuehong Xie, Yuanning Gao, Jiesheng Yu, Daniel Vieira
Congratulations for this important measurement. Here are the comments from the Nikhef group.
Physics: - We miss the "money plot", i.e. the background-subtracted efficiency corrected plot of the ratio of the Xicc to Lb yield ratio in log scale. That should follow an exponential, which would convince readers that you actually fit a lifetime and that you have acceptance under control. It would also visualise the actual value being fitted. Now the result comes as a number at the end and there is no plot that backs it up.
General: - You should explain you do a binned analysis. This is implied in L.96 and of course explained in Refs. [22-26] but should be stated.
Line-by-line: Abstract: performed -> described/presented L.4: remove "which is one of the 4 fundamental interactions" L.6: Xicc++ and Xicc+ baryons with quark content ccu and ccd respectively. (so to say that ccd are quarks). L.8: 1,050 -> 1050 (template guideline 17). We suggest to move [1-10] here. L.15: that -> this L.34: one -> the result. decay-time. L.59: remove "in a well understood way, " Eq.1: m([pKpi]_\Lc) is undefined. What is this quantity? Explain below. Why is the simple mass called m' and the complicated form m? L.79: though -> although L.80: guideline 17 L.86: Here you need to explain why m biases the decay etime while m' does not. to avoid -> in order to avoid Fig.2: a log scale would be show the effect you want to show. Caption : () go before what they refer to. L.96: bin mentioned here. Fig.3: The scale is arbitrary, but values of 2 are still strange. Caption : () go before what they refer to. L.119: Note that -> Here L.130: double Gaussian is undefined. You mean sum of two Gaussian funtions? Fig.4: what is a "rate average" ?
Ref [21] and [44] are the same.
