just to complement the discussion we had during the Bfys meeting, please have a look at the following paper:

In Section 2, you find a proper definition of the phase (as I tried to explain in words...), and in Section 3.4 some things related to the a asymmetry (measuring CP violation in Bs-Bsbar oscillations) are discussed that could also be interesing for LHCb (?).
