Dear Users,
The Operations Portal v4.2 is now online .
The main changes are :
○ EGI Check-in : the main part of the test instance is now working with federated identities .
The dashboard part is the only part of the portal to keep the use of a certificate .
The DN is extracted from the attributes given by the AAI system and then we retrieve with our web service the GOC DB roles .
○ A new metric has been added in the metrics module (VO Activities)
https://operations-portal.egi.eu/metrics/metricsReports
○ the VO ID cards have been modified to integrate :
- a perun indicator (the vo is using Perun or not)
- a cvmfs section (possibility to add an endpoint related to a CernVM File System )
○ a complete backend has been designed for monitoring purposes and to offer daily facilities
○ the news part has been reviewed
○ a "term of use" has been added
○ Correction of multiple bugs

Dear all,
There may be a delay of up to two days in accounting data reaching the Accounting Portal due to hardware maintenance currently occurring at the Accounting Repository. All data from sites is being saved and will appear in the Portal once the maintenance is complete.

Dear vlemed managers,
we are collecting some usage statistics of the EGI infrastructure and we
have noticed that in 2016 your VO registered a remarkable decrease in terms
of normalised CPU time compared to the 2015 utilisation:
- 1.3 millions HepSpec hours in 2015
- 99k HepSpec hours in 2016
- 820k HepSpec hours in Jan/Jun 2017
The numbers are the ones displayed by the EGI Accounting Portal:
https://accounting.egi.eu/discipline/Medical%20imaging/normcpu/VO/Year/2015…
So that we would like to know if there is any particular explanation for
those numbers, just for reporting purposes, and if you were aware of them.
Best regards,
Alessandro

Dear EGI users,
the gLite WMS service has been in best effort support since more than one year, and only for security fixes. As a consequence of the limited support effort available, together with the WMS developers, EGI Operations is proposing the following decommissioning plan:
• WMS will be decommissioned by the end of 2017
• After the end of the year all WMS instances will be removed from production.
As alternative workload management system, EGI can provide support for migrating to the DIRAC service, a tool that provides features very similar to the WMS ones.
If you are still using the WMS for your daily activities, please contact your VO managers in order to get in contact with EGI Operations: together the DIRAC supporters, we can set-up a server for your VO to start testing the new tool and provide support for the migration.
We would encourage the VOs using WMS to coordinate with their users and contact EGI Operations as soon as possible, to plan the transition to other workload management system such as DIRAC, and not be unprepared when the WMS server are switched off. So please contact us per time in order to agree the transition to the new solutions.
Best reagrds,
EGI Operations
