The utilization of the new version of ActiveMQ that was deployed in the PROD network at the end of 2011 revealed bugs that were reported in the upstream and fixed (among others) by a new version.
A complete changelog can be found at ActiveMQ 5.5.1-fuse-01-20 release notes here: http://fusesource.com/wiki/display/ProdInfo/FUSE+Message+Broker+v5.5.1-fuse+...
The new version is a minor update to broker network and it is already tested successfully on TEST broker network.
The PROD ActiveMQ message broker network upgrade is planned for 30 and 31 January 2012 with the following schedule: CERN1 + AUTH on 30th January (11 am - 12 pm CET) CERN2 + SRCE on 31th January (12 pm - 1 pm CET)
The upgrade will take place in 2 stages in order to avoid service disruption.
Other changes that will happen during this update are: - Camel routes will be switched off, SAM is already using wildcard subscriptions instead, others didn't use this feature. This is the last feature that was deployed only on one server. - Automatic closing of inactive STOMP connections after one hour. Inactive connections are overloading brokers and currently it is needed to be cleared manually periodically. If need, clients can reconnect.
To be clear the service as a whole will not be disrupted, the availability of individual brokers will only be affected.
