The GOCDB v5 release, which was provisionally scheduled for the 2nd of Sept, is delayed while some newly encountered issues are resolved (compatibility problems and hardware issues experienced by the server hosting the GOCDB test instance - https://gocdb-test.esc.rl.ac.uk/v5).
We are expecting Release v5 to be delayed by at least 3 weeks. More information about it will be provided in the near future. In the meantime, please see below for more information on the pending v5 release.
Apologies for the inconvenience, Tiziana Ferrari on behalf of the GOCDB Team
--- GOCDB v5 involves migration of the data to a new domain model that supports different DBs. Backward compatibility with the existing v4 PI has largely been maintained however, there are a number of small but important changes documented on the GOCDB wiki, see [1].
The most important of these changes include new primary keys (PKs) for NGIs, ServiceGroups and Services. The new PKs change the URLs of the user interface and the XML output of selected Programmatic Interface methods, see [1].
These changes have already undergone acceptance testing by the developers of the EGI operations tools, but we would now like to extend testing to the wider community. A v5 portal and Programmatic Interface have been made available for testing against a recent snapshot of the production data (see [2]). Any changes made through this v5 test instance will not update the production data.
The test hardware is known to be affected by performance issues, but it still responds to queries within a reasonable time. Please let us know if this causes problems. Our test show that, compared to GOCDB v4, GOCDB v5 is faster for the majority of queries.
Please report any issues and comments at: gocdb-admins@mailman.egi.eu
