(Sorry for the late announcement, I've been away for a couple of days
and I missed the reminder-for-the-reminder in the mail backlog.)
The Next BiG Grid meeting will be tomorrow, Monday 4 May 2009, from
13.30-14.30h in room H3.31.
I would like to bring some attention to the intent and content of these
meetings. The point was raised last time that the people we're doing
this for--the applications--were very much underrepresented in the
meeting and have been for quite some time.
I feel the point was well made and is important enough to address to
some degree; we've seen in the past that the exchange of information
about what we're doing, both from operations and applications, is of
mutual benefit and helps to come up with practical solutions for
problems that would be hard to address without bringing people from both
realms into the same room.
Having said that, the grid meeting is probably not the right forum to
discuss this hiatus; still I would like to encourage everybody on this
list who is in touch with application representatives to invite them to
the meeting, which can be attended via videoconf if not in person.
Last but not least, due to the holidays the meeting of tomorrow may have
a lower attendance than usual, so it may not run its full length.
Cheers,
Dennis van Dok
