The Next BiG Grid meeting will be held on Monday 8 June 2009, from 13.30-14.30h in room H3.31. Agenda: - Presentation by Wico Mulder (Logica) - Operations summary - Middleware - Applications - AOB Videoconf is available as usual. This meeting's special feature is a presentation about learning agents by Wico Mulder. You are all cordially invited to join! Wico Mulder is a PhD-candidate at the UvA researching how autonomous learning agents can help to manage large grid systems. In particular, his field of interest is mapping out events that cross domain boundaries, such as between WMS and CE. As an example he will show patterns of job-flow in the RUG-CIT and Nikhef domains. Dear all, First let me shortly introduce myself. I am a Java developer at Logica, at the moment involved in a project in which we strive to introduce the power of agent technology in grid country. The main focus is the improvement of problem handling and user feedback. Could you please confirm the correctness of the drawing I've made for the grid? Does it effectively visualize the working of the grid (storage)? Do you have any suggestions? I have some more questions. 1 Which identifiers are allowed in JDL for storage references (lfn, guid, surl, turl)? 2 Is nagios present at all systems that make up the grid? 3 Can someone describe the process of scheduling and load balancing for the WMS and the CE, or point me to documentation? I am mainly interested in how and when these processes use information on the availability of the resources needed by a job.
