SGI Whips Up Cyclone Cloud Service for HPC SGI today announced "Cyclone," a cloud service aimed specifically at technical computing. Although the company has sold hardware that ended up in other peoples' clouds, Cyclone represents SGI's first foray into the cloud as a service provider. Hallo, A.s. maandag en dinsdag komt Patrick Fuhrmann bij ons op bezoek. Voor degene die hem niet kennen. Patrick Fuhrmann leidt het team van dCache developers. dCache is de storage oplossing die wij gebruiken voor het LHC Tier1 werk en andere BiGGrid werkzaamheden. Patrick, zal een voordracht houden over dCache, de roadmap etc. Verder zal er een ruime gelegenheid met hem van gedachte te wisselen. Een en ander zal plaatsvinden vanaf 13:30 uur in het auditorium van matrix v. Belangstellenden zijn van harte welkom. Mvg., Ron
