Dear all,

I will also connect via Vidyo, but have another meeting at 11:00.

I started working on the program booklet; I am collecting and editing the program information and have started to collect some practical information. I have attached (a rough draft of) the corresponding section below; any input is welcome.

A few specific items which we can discuss tomorrow, or on which you may want to provide input are:

- Opening times of the reg desk: do we plan to have a desk staffed for the whole meeting, or only at the start?

- Uploading of talks: not sure how much details we need to add; I assume that we will rely on Indico, and most people are familiar with it. Will there be a dedicated 'AV-desk' or testing room during the conference (I don't think we need it; just asking)?

- Maps etc: do we need a map for the way to the Spoorwegmuseum, or is that already foreseen? A map of the buildings for the parallel rooms would in principle be useful, but only if it has the KBG and BBG in one map. Does anyone know whether that exists?

Best regards,

Marco.

Practical Information

Registration Desk

The registration desk is open on Monday 16:00-18:00 and Tuesday from 8:00. During the other conference days, the desk is open …

Wireless Network

In all university buildings, two wireless networks are available for general use: eduroam, which works for anyone with an eduroam account, and UU-visitor, which should accept any connection, but requires that you agree to the terms and services any time you reconnect. A pop-up window should appear automatically.

Talk upload

Please upload your talks to the Indico website at least half a day before the session. In case you have a problem with Indico, please contact the local organizers or the registration desk.

Public Transportation
The Utrecht Science Park (‘De Uithof’) can be reached by many bus services; the most frequent ones from downtown Utrecht (Central Station, Janskerkhof, etc) are line 27/28, which stops at ‘Botanische Tuinen’ and line 12, which stops at ‘Padualaan’.

Bus tickets can be bought on the bus, but if you plan to use the bus throughout the week, you are probably better off getting a chip card (OV-chipkaart, 7.50 euro one-time fee) at the station, the service desk of a super market or another sales point. This card can be recharged at the machines at the station. For more details, see the SQM webpage Travel section.

Conference sessions

All the plenary sessions are in the Cosmos room of the Victor J Koningsberger building (Koningsbergergebouw)

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner takes place at the Railway Museum (Spoorwegmuseum), on Thursday 13 July, at 19:00. The railway museum is just outside the city center and can easily be reached on foot by taking the Maliebrug (bridge) from Lepelenburg (the small park at the edge of the city).
