Hoe gaan we zulke verzoeken aanpakken? Deze student komt uit Duitsland en willen we niet juist studenten uit 2de/3de wereldlanden steunen.
Dit staat namelijk op onze website:
Limited funds are available to provide some support (waive the registration fee) for the students who need financial support. Those students should submit an abstract for either oral or poster and apply for the support through registration (will need a recommendation letter from advisor). Since the funds are limited, the sooner you apply, the better chance you will have. Actually, we no longer be able to accept financial support requests after 1-Apr-2014

Wachten tot 1 april lijkt me een praktische benadering. Het moeilijk van dit soort verzoeken is te bepalen wie nu het hardste ondersteuning nodig hebben (dus wie wel/wie niet). Bovendien kunnen studenten ook eerst proberen in hun eigen land of bij hun eigen funding agency ondersteuning te vragen.
