NEW POLYMER COURSE DATES ANNOUNCED
See below for 2016 course details...

Basic Polymer Science Training

28-30 November 2016

Novotel Sheffield Centre

£990
(Please enquire regarding special rates for students.)

This three day course provides an introduction to polymer science and technology and covers basic aspects of the nature of polymers, their synthesis, their structures, their properties, their processing and their applications.

The course is suitable for those with a background in science or technology, ideally including chemistry taken at an Advanced Level or equivalent, who are seeking to acquire a general appreciation of the fundamentals of polymer science and technology.

Polymer Additives
1-2 December 2016

Novotel Sheffield Centre

£660
(Please enquire regarding special rates for students.)

This new course has been designed for individuals who work with polymers, plastics, rubbers, paints, resins and surface coatings. The course is suitable for those with or without a degree in the field (but we recommend our Basic Polymer Science Course for valuable background science).  The course will cover: UV stabilisers, anti-oxidants and anti-ozonants,  colourants, dyes, pigments, optical brighteners, flame retardants, conventional fillers, nanoscopic fillers, processing aids, tackifiers and others and well as a general introduction to polymer additives and formulation as well as compatibility between different additives.

The course should provide you with the extra knowledge you need to better understand your products and processes and will introduce the basic principles of polymer additives to those who are unfamiliar with the subject or need refreshing

Polymer Processing

5-6 December 2016

Novotel Sheffield Centre

£660
(Please enquire regarding special rates for students.)

This new course has been designed for individuals who work with polymers, plastics, rubbers, and composites. The course is suitable for those with or without a degree in the field (but again, we recommend our Basic Polymer Science Course for valuable background science).  The course will cover the following topics along with case studies associated with each of the techniques: additive manufacturing (3D printing), thermoplastic processing, thermoset processing, composite manufacture as well as a general introduction to polymer processing.

The course should provide you with the extra knowledge you need to better understand your processes and will introduce the basic principles of polymer processing to those who are unfamiliar with the subject or need refreshing.

Polymer Characterisation

7 December 2016

Novotel Sheffield Centre

£370
(Please enquire regarding special rates for students.)

This new one day course has been designed for individuals with polymers, plastics, rubbers, paints, resins and surface coatings, particularly those in a development or quality control role. The course is suitable for those with or without a degree in the field (but, once again, we recommend our Basic Polymer Science Course for valuable background science).  The course will cover the following topics and techniques: Overview of polymer characterisation, important properties to measure,  thermal techniques, chromatography, spectroscopy, mechanical testing, rheology, biocompatibility.

The course should provide you with the extra knowledge you need to better understand your processes and materials and will introduce the basic principles of polymer characterisation to those who are unfamiliar with the subject or need refreshing.
