Title: Detector Development for the SPT-3G Experiment
Abstract content SPT-3G is an ambitious focal plane upgrade for the South Pole Telescope (SPT) platform. The SPT is one of the world's premier mm-wave observatories and has been optimized for precision measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background. In this talk, I will discuss ongoing research and development of multi-chroic Transition Edge Sensor (TES) bolometer arrays which will be the detector technology for the SPT-3G focal plane. I will present details regarding our investigation and optimization of the detector's thermal circuitry, transition profile, and superconducting microstrip transmission line.
