** Basic Polymer Science Training (http://www.polymercentre.org.uk/cpd-training/module-listing/module-introduct...) ------------------------------------------------------------ 20-22 November 2017 Novotel Sheffield Centre £990 (Please enquire regarding special rates for students.)
This three day course provides an introduction to polymer science and technology and covers basic aspects of the nature of polymers, their synthesis, their structures, their properties, their processing and their applications.
It is taught by two lecturers who have a wealth of experience in polymer training and research at graduate and postgraduate level. They have both successfully taught short courses on aspects of polymer science and technology for a wide variety of clients, including both educational institutions and industrial companies, e.g. Shell, Unilever, ICI, and Exxon.
The course is suitable for those with a background in science or technology, ideally including chemistry taken at an Advanced Level or equivalent, who are seeking to acquire a general appreciation of the fundamentals of polymer science and technology.

** Polymer Processing (http://www.polymercentre.org.uk/cpd-training/module-listing/polymer-processi...) ------------------------------------------------------------
23-24 November 2017 Novotel Sheffield Centre £660 (Please enquire regarding special rates for students.)
This new course has been designed for individuals who work with polymers, plastics, rubbers, and composites. The course is suitable for those with or without a degree in the field (but we recommend our Basic Polymer Science Course for valuable background science). The course will cover the following topics along with case studies associated with each of the techniques:
Overview of polymer processing Additive Manufacturing Thermoplastic processing Thermoset processing Composite manufacture
The course should provide you with the extra knowledge you need to better understand your processes and will introduce the basic principles of polymer processing to those who are unfamiliar with the subject or need refreshing.
** ------------------------------------------------------------
** Polymer Characterisation (http://www.polymercentre.org.uk/cpd-training/module-listing/polymer-characte...) ------------------------------------------------------------
27 November 2015 Novotel Sheffield Centre £370 (Please enquire regarding special rates for students.)
This new one day course has been designed for individuals with polymers, plastics, rubbers, paints, resins and surface coatings, particularly those in a development or quality control role. The course is suitable for those with or without a degree in the field (but we recommend our Basic Polymer Science Course for valuable background science). The course will cover the following topics and techniques:
Overview of polymer characterisation Important properties to measure Thermal Techniques Chromatography Spectroscopy Mechanical testing Rheology Biocompatibility
The course should provide you with the extra knowledge you need to better understand your processes and materials and will introduce the basic principles of polymer characterisation to those who are unfamiliar with the subject or need refreshing.
