Who is going?
Do we need to discuss the forming of SSCs in the Netherlands?
Cheers,
Dennis
Hi,
Given the dates, it pretty much excludes all people going to the JRA1 all hands (although Cyprus is not too far from Athens...)
cheers, Mischa

Hello,
EGEE and EGI_DS will be sponsoring a workshop to discuss the formation of Specific Support Clusters (SSCs) for the European Grid Infrastucture (EGI). This workshop is open to any current users of European grid infrastructure or future users of EGI who are interested in forming an SSC.
The goals of the workshop are:
- Discuss the common characteristics of an SSC.
- Determine the different types of SSCs (scientific, support,
business, ...).
- Discuss sources of funding for each type of SSC.
- Determine how each SSC will deal with the probable September FP7
Infrastructure Call.
- Discuss timelines for preparing proposals or contributing to the EGI
proposal.
The workshop will take place:
5-6 May 2009 in Athens, Greece
More detailed information can be found on the workshop agenda:
http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=55097
Note that all participants MUST register for the event:
http://indico.cern.ch/confModifParticipants.py/newPending?confId=55097
Also note that future announcements and discussion will take place on the mailing list:
egi-ssc-preparation@cern.ch
Please be sure to join that list to receive future announcement and to join in the discussion.
Those people participating in the workshop are VERY STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to read the documentation linked from the agenda. In particular, people wishing to form an SSC should talk with their user communities and start to work on the items in the "Draft Guidelines for SSCs" document.
Please forward this announcement to anyone you feel would be interested in the workshop.
Sincerely,
Charles Loomis Vangelis Floros Diana Cresti

Hi
