FYI.
The yearly BEgrid Seminar takes place on 22 October 2009.
The focus of the day is on applications that are installed on BEgrid or that are running on other gLite based grids.
Special attention is given to:
- Astronomy and astrophysics
- Chemistry
- Life Sciences
- Physics
Octave, with its extensive tools for solving common numerical linear algebra problems, finding the roots of nonlinear equations, integrating ordinary functions, manipulating polynomials, and integrating ordinary differential and differential-algebraic equations has been installed on BEgrid. A presentation at the BEgrid Seminar explains how to use this package.
The program in the parallel session features two tutorials:
- the new graphical user interface (P-Grade portal)that will be made available on BEgrid will be explained and demonstrated. There will be an extra 'Hands-on P-Grade Portal" on 23 October for those that want to start using this type of graphical interface to the grid. Register separately for this hands -on workshop at:

- BEgrid for beginners: a must for researchers who consider the use of grid computing.
