Hi, Bezig met de key-note speakers bedacht ik me dat Brian Cox wel eens een mooie spreker zou kunnen zijn om het afsluitende verhaal te geven op vrijdag middag. Hij is een "celebrity" in Engeland, maar maakt ook gewoon deel uit van de ATLAS groep in Manchester, waar we genoeg contacten hebben. Cinzia is zelfs convener de novel sensor track en zit in dezelfde groep. Morgen middag kan ik er helaas niet bij zijn, maar ben benieuwd wat jullie er van vinden? Groet, Jan

[Tipp2014-loc] statistiek van TIPP abstracts

Hi, Hierbij een overzicht van het aantal ingediende abstracts per track (zie plot). In totaal zijn er tot nu toe 181 abstracts ingediend, maar daarbij is tenminste 1 dubbele. De rode balken zijn abstracts die alleen in het betreffende track ingediend zijn. De blauwe balken zijn ingediend in meerdere tracks, dus dat lijken er meer dan er werkelijk zijn omdat ze meer dan eens geteld worden (som van de balken is > 181). Wat zorgelijk is is dat er bij sommige tracks nauwelijks abstracts zijn, en dit zijn helaas ook meestal tracks buiten onze core business. Hopelijk helpt de uitgestelde deadline, maar extra publiciteit in deze groepen zou welkom zijn. Bij andere tracks, waaronder gas en trigger, zijn veel meer 'rode' abstracts dan beschikbare plekken, althans volgens het huidige schema. Het is misschien nog wat vroeg om het rooster aan te passen, maar anderzijds zou het zonde zijn als we veel mensen verliezen omdat we ze geen talk kunnen geven. Hi Leo, Hieronder een klacht mbt abstract submission voor TIPP. Is dit iets waar we naar moeten kijken? Ik heb zelf niet geprobeerd om een lightweight account aan te maken maar als dit een barrière vormt voor het insturen van een abstract hebben we een probleem. Wat ik wel zie is dat het Henry Frisch even later wel is gelukt om een abstract in te dienen. Ik wil graag een lijst met adressen aan (en door) wie een 'reminder' is gestuurd.
