Hi all,
I am interested in making drawings/schematics of simple geometries including angles, distances, axes etc. Which free app would you suggest me to get for Mac OS X?
Sorry for the spam, Panagiotis
does google sketchup do what you need?

or, if you prefer to ‘program’ your drawing (which has advantages!), just use ROOT ;-)

Hey,
Or if you like LaTeX you can use TikZ For examples: http://www.texample.net/tikz/examples/

Hi,
Two more alternatives would be Xfig and Inkscape.
Cheers, Geert-Jan

Thanks for your replies!
- Google sketchup asks for a license(?). -Inkscape looks too "professional", takes a lot of time for a simple drawing.
I was hoping to find an app with a Graphic UI and use programming in Latex or Root as my last resort.

looks like the free version of sketch up has been renamed to "Sketchup Make" if you select "educational use" on their download page, you get a choice of downloading either Make or Pro.
Xfig can indeed do a lot, esp. if it's in 2D.

Dia, intended for drawing diagrams, may be what you need:
http://dia-installer.de/download/macosx.html
If you do not have Powerpoint: did you already have a look at LibreOffice, which includes a drawing program and and a presentation program?
Best regards,
